Plan Your Course

If you have not already done so, you’ll need to choose between the 3.75 hr shorter INTRO version and the 10 hr FULL version. Each one has a variety of session lengths and sessions to fit your schedule. Use VERSION COMPARISON CHART below help choose the one right for you.

When you’ve selected the version you’ll use, use SCOPE & SCHEDULING OPTIONS to help you schedule according to your available time.

Download Materials

To familiarize yourself with the materials before you start and to be ready for working with students, you’ll want to download and make copies of the following, depending on the Dream Path Version you’ve selected. What’s below directs to just what you need. If want to look at everything you can go to Dream Path SEL Center and browse.

INTRO Program: 5 sessions (45-min) or 15 sessions (15-min)

Simple step-by-step directions for each session.

These are selected pages from the FULL program Student Journal. You will need them for the lessons.

The Teacher Directions refer to specific sections of this guide for a more detailed and scripted version of the lesson.

INTRO Program for Art: 7 sessions (45-min)

This is the step-by-step direction for the 5 Session program. You use it with the Art Adaptation sheet to guide each session.

This refers to the Teacher Directions for the 5 session program and adds Art Making activities for each session.

These are selected pages from the FULL program Student Journal. You will need them for the lessons.

The Teacher Directions refer to specific sections of this guide for a more detailed and scripted version of the lesson.

FULL Program: 10 sessions (60-min) or 20 sessions (30-min)

This is the full scripted guide. Each 60-minute lesson is divided into two sections so you can use it for 2 30-minutes sessions.

This is the full 20-page Student Journal with activity pages for each lesson and additional extension activities. It is available in two formats for in-person classes and virtual classes.

FULL Program: 40 sessions (15-min)

Print & Prep

For all versions, you’ll need to do the following printing and prepping:

Teacher Directions & Full Program Guide

It’s best to print these if you can. The Program Guide is 50 pages so you may wish to use the digital version, but printing is recommended so you can refer to it while using your computer for the Lesson Presentations.

You an also purchase a print copy of the Full Guide on our Subscribe page.

Take time to read over at least two or three lessons before you start. Use the digital version for this.  You can use linked Teacher Training videos to help you see how other experienced Dreamline teachers approach these lessons. You’ll also want to look at the Lesson Presentations (below).

Student Activity Sheets / Dreamline Student Journal

You will need to print these for in-class use with pen or pencil-one copy for each student.  You can do one at a time or print a whole packet and hand it out. The pdf is in color but will print well in black and white, and we recommend printing on both sides.

You can also purchase printed color copies of the Student Journal on our Subscribe page.

If you are teaching virtually, you can download and distribute copies of the writable pdf version that students can type on. They have to save their copy first, and then can type on it and save their changes.

Lesson Presentations

Take time to view the Lesson Presentations for at least the first few lessons. It’s the fastest way to orient yourself to the program. For the FULL Program use the Lesson Consoles to access each Lesson Presentation.

Practice using the Lesson Presentation navigation. Note that the slide numbers are in the bottom right corner. Also note that the forward and back arrows are below each slide. For the FULL PROGRAM CONSOLE use the lesson bars at the top to select Lessons 1-10.

Begin

#1 Projection Set-Up

You will need a projector or large digital display for every lesson. Test the sound to make sure videos can be heard. Practice using the navigation, going forward or back between slides.

If you don’t have this but the students do have access to computers, you could do a Zoom that they join (as though they were at home) and share screen with them. They can use headphones or you can have sound off for all computers except yours.

These lessons are designed to be teacher led, not self-directed by students on computers. The Lesson Presentation slides are also only accessible  with your login and password as a Dream Path Subscriber.

#2 Lesson Materials in Hand

You will want the Teacher Directions and/or the Full Teacher Guide either in print form or on a different device than your computer since you’ll be using it for the Lesson Presentation. You’ll also need any Student Journal handouts for the first lesson.

#3 Banner Selection

No matter what version you are using the first lesson always includes looking at some Dreamline Banners. Take the time to find some Banners that are appropriate for your students and will engage them. Try using the Keyword Searches linked below to find Banners of interest. Also you may want to watch the tutorial video on Gallery searching and a tech tip for saving Banners as well..
